Climate Alliance has developed a comprehensive approach to support local authorities in their climate protection efforts. Simple and pragmatic tools & methods for all steps of an action plan are available: from initial decision to become active right through to monitoring of progress.
| Climate Compass provides a roadmap for the development of local climate action plans. This method helps setting up a local climate protection action plan and running it in the shortest time.

| The internet based tool EcoRegion helps municipalities to calculate their CO2 emissions and to follow up on the achievements of their climate work. CO2 reduction objectives set within the frame of the Climate Alliance self-commitment, the Covenant of Mayors or individual targets can be monitored by this means.

| A systematic approach for visualisation and analysis of local actions provides Climate Cities Benchmark. It allows learning from others cities and comparing your city with others and thus helps to improve your climate policy. |
